Tali’Zorah nar Rayya, later known as Tali’Zorah vas Normandy, is one of the most popular and enduring characters in the Mass Effect video game series by BioWare. A brilliant Quarian engineer and loyal ally of Commander Shepard, Tali is celebrated for her technical expertise, distinctive environmental suit, and deep loyalty to her people and friends.

Tali first appears in Mass Effect (2007), introduced as a young Quarian on her Pilgrimage, a rite of passage in which Quarians leave the Migrant Fleet to bring back something of value. She joins Shepard’s mission after revealing critical information about the rogue Spectre Saren and the synthetic Geth. Tali’s deep knowledge of AI and synthetic systems makes her an invaluable squad member, especially against the threat of the Reapers.

Tali is easily recognized by her sleek, biohazard-filtering environmental suit and masked helmet, designed to protect her weakened Quarian immune system.
