Ivy Valentine
A tale of swords and souls, eternally retold...
Ivy, the deadly femme fatal from the smash hit gaming series.
Figure designed by Abe3D.
Ivy Valentine is one of the most recognizable and compelling characters in the Soulcalibur fighting game series by Bandai Namco. Known for her striking, mature design and deadly fighting style, Ivy wields the Ivy Blade (Valentine)—a unique weapon that transforms between a sword and a segmented whip, giving her long-range, unpredictable attacks.
Introduced in Soulcalibur (1998), Ivy (real name Isabella Valentine) is the aristocratic yet tormented daughter of an English nobleman. After learning her family’s wealth was built on the cursed Soul Edge, Ivy becomes obsessed with destroying the evil weapon that has corrupted so many, including her own father. Her personal crusade against Soul Edge drives her to study alchemy and forbidden sorcery, extending her lifespan and enhancing her combat abilities.
Ivy’s design is instantly recognizable: pale skin, white hair, piercing eyes, and her signature revealing purple outfit. She exudes cold confidence, cruelty, and sophistication, making her both alluring and intimidating. Despite her ruthless demeanor in battle, Ivy is a tragic antiheroine—haunted by her connection to Soul Edge and determined to end its influence on the world.
Throughout the Soulcalibur series, Ivy serves as both rival and reluctant ally to other warriors such as Nightmare, Sophitia, Taki, and Kilik. Her mastery of the Ivy Blade sets her apart in the roster, allowing players to control space and punish opponents from range with complex, stylish combos. She is widely regarded as one of the most technically challenging and rewarding characters to play in 3D fighting games.
Beyond the games, Ivy Valentine is an enduring symbol of Soulcalibur’s gothic, weapon-based combat, blending aristocratic aesthetics with dark fantasy themes. She remains a fan favorite for her unique weapon design, rich backstory, and the perfect balance of elegance and lethality.
