Gruul the Undying was once a mighty troll, feared for his immense strength and ferocity. For over a century, he terrorized villages and claimed vast territories in the dark forests and swamps. However, Gruul's reign of terror was brought to an end by a powerful band of heroes who sought to rid the land of his menace.

Defeated and left to rot, Gruul's remains were found by a necromancer who saw potential in the troll's formidable bones. Through dark rituals and forbidden magic, Gruul was resurrected as a skeletal monstrosity, bound to serve his new master. Stripped of his flesh but not his strength, Gruul's skeletal form became even more terrifying, with glowing eyes and a chilling aura of death.
