Your model has arrived — here's what to do next. Every model from Realm 3D Prints is washed and fully cured before it leaves us, so you can get straight into prep.
Step 1: Check Your Parts
Carefully remove your model from its packaging and check all parts are present. Resin is rigid but can be brittle at thin points, so handle with care.
Step 2: Remove Supports
Your model may have support structures from the printing process. Use flush cutters to clip these away close to the surface, then a hobby knife or fine sandpaper (400 grit) to smooth any remaining stubs.
Work slowly around fine details — resin holds incredible detail but thin parts can snap if forced.
Step 3: Fix Any Warping
Occasionally a part may have a slight warp from transit. Submerge the piece in hot (not boiling) water for 20–30 seconds, gently bend to the correct shape, then hold under cold water to lock it in place. Repeat if needed.
Step 4: Prime
Apply a thin, even coat of spray primer in a well-ventilated area — grey is the most versatile starting point. Allow 30 minutes to dry fully before touching.
Priming is essential for resin. Paint applied directly to unprimed resin will peel over time.
