The rest of the party quickly realized that they were dealing with a Rug of Smothering, a magical item that could suffocate its victims. They leapt into action, trying to pry the rug off their comrade before it was too late. The struggle was intense, with the rug writhing and thrashing about, but eventually they were able to defeat it and free their friend from its deadly embrace.
